My DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is an Intel 2.4GHz Pentium 4 with 3Gb RAM.

I use Cakewalk Sonar Producer for all audio and MIDI recording / editing and share the mixing with the Yamaha 02R. I tend to do initial mixes of complex projects on the faders then translate to automation in Sonar. By final mixdown, all the faders are usually all set and left at 0dB.

The Yamaha 02R and PC are linked via a Frontier Design Group Dakota soundcard. This provides 16 channels via ADAT TosLink plus stereo on SPDIF, giving a total of 18 channels I/O.

For effects and processing I like using a combination of the excellent 02R effects plus a range of quality DXI and VST plug-ins.

I mix using Mackie HR824 nearfields and AKG K171 cans. I also listen on a pair of hi-fi speakers, a wee cheapie mono cabinet as well as my iPod, various CD players and vehicle stereos. If a mix translates well over all these mediums – it's good!
